ING has appointed Aled Patchett as head of sectors for the UK, tasking him with overseeing client coverage and commercial activity across the bank’s full-service product suite. Patchett, who joins from a two-decade tenure at Lloyds Bank, will serve as a senior management function holder and report to UK country head Alexandra MacMahon. His remit covers a broad range of industries, including energy, infrastructure, and sustainable finance, as the firm looks to unify its cross-product delivery in lending and capital markets.

Meanwhile, Schroders Capital has tapped Bob Paterson to lead its European asset-based finance and significant risk transfer investments. Operating from London, Paterson will head the firm’s origination and execution efforts for European, UK, and Australian transactions. With 25 years of industry experience, including previous roles at Manulife CQS Investment Management and Morgan Stanley, Paterson is expected to scale the firm’s investment toolkit. Michelle Russell-Dowe, co-head of private debt and credit alternatives, noted that Paterson’s arrival aligns with a growing client appetite for high-quality, income-oriented strategies.
