Jordan Bardella rejects claims of past antisemitic social media posts

Jordan Bardella, the prominent National Rally leader and chair of the Patriots for Europe group, has flatly denied authorship of antisemitic messages surfaced by an investigation. The controversy arrives as political maneuvering intensifies ahead of France's presidential election, casting a shadow over the far-right figure's public image.

The report from Mediapart alleges that in 2013, Bardella authored claims asserting that "all the banks are owned by Jews" and suggested that Israel is orchestrating a "new world order." These findings follow previous allegations involving a secret Twitter account reportedly linked to him, which featured content mocking a Black victim of police brutality.

Bardella dismissed the evidence as "crude montages" and "obscure screenshots" prone to digital manipulation. He vowed to pursue legal action against Mediapart for defamation, characterizing the investigation as either a deliberate smear campaign by the publication or a broader effort by political rivals to influence the upcoming election cycle.
