The combined entity now claims the unique distinction of holding top-ten positions globally across active equities, active fixed income, and private markets. For the next 12 to 18 months, Schroders will maintain independent operations under the leadership of group CEO Richard Oldfield, who reports directly to Nuveen chief executive William Huffman. Investment teams across both organizations are set to remain intact during this transitional period to ensure continuity for institutional and wealth management clients.
William Huffman described the merger as a landmark opportunity to reshape industry standards by offering a bespoke proposition previously unavailable to the market. Beyond the structural integration, the firm is establishing a unified investment platform. Saira Malik has been appointed chief investment officer to lead this initiative, while Johanna Kyrklund will oversee public markets and solutions, including equities and fixed income. The company plans to organize its $400 billion private markets arm by specific asset class, with Matt Oomen heading global client coverage.
